Heart Attack Quality Data
Cardiovascular disease, including AMI (commonly called heart attack), is the leading cause of death in the United States. Each year, 900,000 Americans are diagnosed with AMI and 225,000 cases lead to death. A heart attack happens when the arteries leading to the heart become blocked and the blood supply is slowed or stopped. This measure shows how often our medical center gave recommended care to their patients who were having heart attacks during the fourth quarter of 2011.
- Percent of heart attack patients given aspirin at arrival.
- Percent of heart attack patients given aspirin at discharge.
- Percent of heart attack patients given ACE inhibitor or ARB for left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD).
- Percent of heart attack patients given beta blocker at discharge.
- Percent of heart attack patients given PCI within 90 minutes of arrival.
- Percent of heart attack patients given prescription for a statin at discharge.
