Put a check mark beside any statement that your child is
NOT doing:
- Being understood 1/2 the time or more
- Requesting items by name
- Pointing to pictures in a book when they are named
- Identifying several body parts
- Asking 1-2 word questions
- Using 3-4 word phrases
- Using 50+ words
- Following simple commands
- Answering simple questions
- Understanding negation (no or not)
- Making eye contact
If you checked 2 or more items in the above list and your child is 2 1/2
years of age or older, it may be appropriate for you to discuss the need for a
Speech and Language evaluation with your pediatrician.
