Growing to Meet Your Needs
Adventist Medical Center will be unveiling a new 181,000-square-foot Pavilion this May. The expansion marks the first
phase in advancing the hospital’s plans to increase capacity to meet the growing health care needs of the community. The new building provides a healing environment that will care for the whole person, addressing physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and their families.
The structure will house the Northwest Regional Heart Center, containing comprehensive cardiology services, where diagnosis, treatment and patient care can be accessed in one building. It will also feature two state-of-the-art heart catheterization labs, with space to add a third lab in the future. Cardiac testing capabilities
as well as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation care will be included in the expansion. Eight preparation and recovery rooms are being planned in the new space for heart catheterization procedures, along with an inpatient cardiac care unit.
Equipped with chest pain observation rooms and inpatient beds, the cardiac care unit truly consolidates cardiac care for patients in the pavilion. Whether patients come as a result
of outpatient services or are admitted through the Emergency Department (ED), the proximity of these services to one another will aid our ability to quickly diagnose and provide treatment for patients.
Award-Winning Care
In recent years the hospital has received numerous national awards for the quality of care delivered
to cardiac and stroke patients. The new space will provide the highly trained, multidisciplinary
staff with the ability to give the best possible care and continue its commitment to excellence.
"We are honored to provide the community with this vital resource designed to foster healing through compassionate
care," says Tom Russell, president and CEO of Adventist Medical Center.
The expanded space exemplifies Adventist Medical Center’s commitment to wellness. The interior décor is designed to enhance the healing process with large windows in the waiting area, ample lighting over the centralized nursing station, and rooms filled with warm, pleasant and calming colors. The new building will also feature a heart-healthy café and gift shop.
The Pavilion project also includes the expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department
(ED). Adventist Medical
Center's ED is among the busiest emergency rooms in the metro area. The new ED will be equipped to handle additional patients without overcrowding or extended wait times.
This new space, scheduled to be completed within a year, will feature 32 beds. Rooms will be equipped
with computerized, wireless devices to speed the flow of decision making information to medical professionals and improve the quality of care, as well as allow for
bedside registration. The expansion project also provides an enclosed area for ambulance transports.
Safety, Comfort, Privacy
The expansion addresses critical capacity issues while focusing on the
hospital's reputation for patient-centered care. The new facility provides an environment that embraces safety, comfort and privacy—all important components of healing. The
building also meets the technology needs of patients, families and staff and sets a new standard for
advancements in care.
The second floor of the pavilion is home to two spacious new operating rooms that will provide additional space for inpatient surgeries. It will also house Adventist Medical
Center's future outpatient surgery center (to be constructed in the next phase).
The third floor will be home to 31,000 square feet of physician offices. Easy access to the new pavilion has been ensured with the addition of a new multi-level
parking structure that provides close entrance access to services.
