serve. We will do this by providing nutritious and appetizing food for our
customers in the most efficient and economical manner possible.
Inpatient Services
Nutritional Services provides daily meal service including nourishments to all
pediatric, adult and geriatric patients ranging in age from 1 day to over 100
years old who have a variety of medical and psychiatric diagnoses requiring
inpatient care according to the individual medical/nutritional needs and
according to preference and tolerance. Medical nutrition therapy, which includes
screening, assessment, care plan, re-assessment and education, are provided by
Registered Dietitians based on nutritional risk or physician order. We provide
consultation with physicians, nurses and other caregivers, and patient and
family instruction when appropriate and directed by the attending physician.
Outpatient Services
Nutritional Services provides medical nutrition therapy, which includes
assessment, care plan, re-assessment and education to pediatric, adult, and
geriatric outpatients. Home visits for these services are also provided upon
request to our Home Care patients. Registered dietitians provide nutrition
instruction and classes to special outpatient groups.
Non-Patient Services
Nutritional Service provides regular cafeteria meals to all employees, medical
staff and visitors to Adventist Medical Center in our
Garden Café for breakfast,
lunch and dinner daily. Vending machines are also available at all times in the
Emergency Department and on the Lower Level.
