Chaplain
A chaplain is available for consultation at patient or family request.
Laboratory and X-rays
It may be necessary to order blood tests, x-rays or other types of tests to
assist in diagnosis and treatment. Lab results generally take an hour, although
your length of stay may increase when complicated tests or consultations with
other specialists are necessary. Severely ill patients receive first priority
for x-rays which may delay other patients.
Pharmacy
You may fill prescriptions at a local pharmacy or at Professional Center 205
Pharmacy on the AMC campus located in Professional Building 1. Hours are 9:00 am
to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
We can provide you with locations of other pharmacies, including 24-hour
pharmacies.
The emergency department does not routinely fill prescriptions or arrange
refills from previous visits.
Food
Patients must avoid eating or drinking prior to evaluation, as this may delay
treatment.
Restroom
Check with emergency staff before using the restroom to determine the need
for a specimen.
Smoking
Adventist Medical Center maintains a smoke-free environment.
Visitors
The number of visitors allowed in the emergency treatment area is limited.
This helps maintain privacy for all patients. Visiting may also be restricted
based on the condition of the patient as well as the numbers of patients in the
treatment area.
